Inspired by the staggering seaside cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, Rumination is an immersive meditative installation that utilizes water, light, and auditory elements to elicit a sensory experience. The client who commissioned this installation grew up in Italy, and now resides in California. He expressed the desire to recreate the serenity he felt when he would sit upon the Amalfi cliffside and look out onto the ocean, watching the waves disrupt the reflection of the rocky shores on the water’s surface. Rumination captures the essence of the staggered cliffs, reflection disruption, and seaside sounds so he can visit his peaceful cliffside as often and for as long as he wishes.
